Sic Bo is a casino game having Chinese origin, often played in Southeast Asian countries. Recent times have seen this game make its way into American casinos. Sic Bo is an exciting and easy to play a game of chance that uses three dice although the name itself literally means “dice pair”.
Sic Bo usually follows a 46 or 50 bet layout and begins with the players placing their bets. The dice are then covered in a plastic cylinder and given a shake. The dealer then reveals the dice, and the wagering spots on which they fall are winners. Bets are paid out depending on the odds specified on the layout, after removing the losing bets from the table.
Bets in Sic Bo can be placed in eight different ways such as Three of a Kind, Two of a Kind, Any Three of a Kind, Small, Big, Sum, Duo and One of a Kind. The main bets when playing Sic Bo involve smaller numbers from 4 to 10 and bigger numbers from 11 to 17. Even money is involved in winning bets where the player chooses small numbers and the dice total is between 4 and 10. High numbers win when the dice total is between 11 and 17.
Sic Bo bets may also follow the odd-even pattern where bets pay even money. If a triple is shaken, players lose money. Some players may also choose to play this game based on the total of all three dice, from 4 to 17, or they may bet on any triple at 30 to 1 odds or choose a triple at 180 to 1 odds. Simple bets of small-big and odd-even have smaller advantages for smaller payoffs, while higher payoff bets pay out larger but the house edge is higher. This means that small payoff bets combined with high payoff bets evenly interspersed have higher chances of winning while playing Sic Bo.
